Introduction and wantin some good performance mods??
Hey, I just wanted to introduce myself, and say this site looks like a good one. Ive got a 2002 GMC Sierra 5.3L w/ Rancho susp. lift, and some other goodies, check my sig for pics and further info on my truck! I just wondered what some good performance mods would be? My current plan is GCA intake, SPE ProFlash, Thorley Tri Y headers! How does that sound? Ive already got a dual flowmaster exhaust. Im not lookin for superchargeresc gains just to have a nice kick and suprise some folks!! Any suggestions are appreciated!

ps - also, which would be better for traction, rear springs or traction bars? (ive got the rancho 4in block and add a leafs right now!)

Welcome aboard! Nice truck... how much did you spend for the Rancho Kit? It's a 4" lift right? I'm thinking of doing that next year... little short on the cash to do it this year, I already spent more on it than I should have.

Welcome to the party pal!
Anyway, I don't know much about the GCA intakes but I like my K&N FIPK. The UPD is supposedly nice too. My FIPK gives me the most WOT sound, which I like
I'd assume the ProFlash you are talking about is a programmer of some sort. A Hypertech is nice for adjusting speedometer, shift points, and their "power" program. They can be found used for cheap.
The Thorley headers just came out and seem to be a nice compromise between the dollar-to-power ratio. I believe the are midtubes and around $500.
Also, ASP underdrive pullies work well too.
I would go with a higher stall torque converter for some more stoplight power. A Yank 3000 is pretty popular and has full towing abilities!
Cal-Trac traction bars are pretty good from the people on FSC.com.

Re: Introduction and wantin some good performance mods??
Yeah, thats where I found this site from FSC! Well, its been debated many times on FSC whether its a 4in or not, I got 6in up front with the Tbars set to factory specs, and I got about 5.5 to 5.75 in the rear, althought Im thinkin about rear springs! I got mine from 4wheelparts for $1480, that was with shocks and everything!
I thought the Thorleys were long tube? The ProFlash is a programmer similar to the Hypertech but has more options. Ive got a little bit of a system, would the underdrive pullies still be ok, or worth it?
