Question Intakes

Is anyone running the Volant Cold Air intake on their 6.0? There are so many different brands to choose from and I've been told they are the best.

They are the best. I'm surprised the other brands can stay in business.

Found this on silveradoss.com, http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/in...howtopic=44289. They put AEM on top.

Uless I read the information wrong it puts the KNN on top (looking at HP numbers located below the graph) The AEM with out a filter only posted half a horse more than the KNN with a filter and unless its a track car only I would imagine everyone would run it with a filter. Either way any of the brands they tested are quality brands and your not going to notice 1-3 hp anyway. Air temp alone would make a bigger difference than that anyways IMO. The ones that posted lower numbers were stock intakes with drop in filters so you get what you pay for.

I have a K&N installed on my truck and im very impressed with it. Very easy to disassemble and clean the filter and easy to clean composite tube when I wash under the hood.

GM High Performance did a test years back and saw the best results with the Vararam setup.

They have a nice ram air kit that has 2 intake tunes that get air from the side grill.
I also read that their king cobra kit for silverado makes you remove a fastner from the grill. Read for your self Vararam VR-6 King Cobra, Waste of Money-Returned

I have the K&n fipk2 AND IF I could do it al over again I would have gone with volant and the down scoop.

Some one on here did a dyno test with the vararam and showed great gains.

Volant seems to be a favorite around here because of the box design and scoop. I have a Spectre kit that's a knockoff of a AEM Bruteforce. They all do they same think the same way pretty much. Not too much of a difference, mainly just personal preference.
