Default Intake on a third gen truck?

I was wondering how much the difference the intake is compared to a LS1 car and how much work goes into changeing itand if anyone have any types or brands to recommend?

you don't want an LS1 intake, a step backward from the truck intake considering where it makes its power.

The search button is your friend this topic has been beat to death literally. Car intake=loss of power down low gain a bit up top truck intake= equal a torque intake with less breathing up top lots of work to get the car intake to work accessorie spacing different other stuff

Uhhhhh, did any of you guys read his post? He's asking about aftermarket LS1 car intakes, not a stock LS1 intake... The installation portion of all of your replies apply, but not the power claims...

Personally, I believe the intake should be last on your list Pjstucn, not only due to cost/HP ratio, but also due to installation fabrication required to make it work as well. Until you're making some serious HP, you won't need the intake or throttle body to be touched.

Its given that the truck intake makes better power down low, but everyone seems to forget that they are stalling past 2k rpms and using cams that dont make anything in the range that the truck intake is meant for.

Everyone seems to have 3K stalls with huge cams and shifts at 6500 rpms lately. If I remember, the truck intake starts loosing to the car (LS6) intake around 5500, with very little gain below 5500. I think more people would try car intakes if the swap wasn't so costly. Maybe then this myth would be put to bed.

The question was referring to a LS1 intake, teh LS6 intake is a completley different animal, teh truck intake loses out to the LS6 intake.
