Default Intake swap

Hello fellow Truckmen,

Has anyone replaced the OEM intake manifold with a LS1 on a 4.8L.
If so please E-mail me @ airbear155@yahoo.com.

Thanks,
airbear

the 5.3 is a better intake than the ls1 or ls6. The FAST intakes beat the stock truck unit. It aint pretty...but the oem works the best. The only reason id take it off....is to add a MagnaCharger

Talk to NastyN8(Sponsor --->Nasty Performance). He might be able to help with the stock unit by relocating the outlet to face forward but, if not he can get you a Evans pump with a truck pulley and forward outlet. Then I think you'll have to talk to Speartech about a idler pulley relocater so the belt will clear the new pump outlet. Speartech is also a sponsor over on the right.

I agree, unless you HAVE to replace it you will not see any gains at all, even some loss at lower RPM's. Keep the stock truck intake!
