Default Intake question

Since my K&N tube broke I now have my stock tube midified(All silencers are cut off). So basically my intake now is a modded stock tube with the K&N cone filter at the end. I want to take my stock intake box and have the cone filter inside of it and then run my ram air tube to the box and seal the ram ari tube with the box so it creates an air tight box/vaccume? BTW the inside of the air box will be completely smoother out and I may make a sealedclear plexi glass top so you can see in kind like the voolant intake box. What do you guys think? Would it increase performance over what I have?

well I just looked at the stock box and it seems that I'm going to have to make my own custom box. Oh well it will give me something to do today.

my s.c kit came with a tube and a little k&n filter, you mod the top of the box w/ the filter, the tube was too long and was crushing the fiter. i took the stock bow out made a three sided aluminum box with a rubber srtip on top to seal it from the engine compartment. it draws air from the stock fender holes air coming in past the light and a 2" 10" space in front. not quite a ram or cold air but definatly a cooler air system. logging with efi live my iat's are usually very close to ambient. you can actually make an intake tube out of abs taht may be smoother flowing [less bends] then the stock one, it's easier if you have electric fans[ gives you more room]. been toying with the idea of making an oval tube to feed my box, cut a hole in the plastic under the light. i say give it a shot, i love playing with stuff like that. and yes it should help, anytime you can give your intake less restriction and lower the intake temp you should create more power and increase throttle response.
