About 220 degrees on the exhaust side. The exhaust duration has more to do with where the power curve kicks in and the intake duration has more to do with the power level.

You aren't going to get "big hp" at such a low rpm. Hp is a function of rpm and the big numbers come with rpm. I notice you say "hit" so do you mean you want it to start pulling there, or you want it to already be strong there? If you want to mximize power at 3000, I would say stay small, like somewhere in the 216 to 220 range.

I always thought the intake portrayed where the powerband will be...

I'll have to double check on that thought.

I was thinking about 216-218* in a 6.0.

The 216's are supposed to start making good power at 2,500. My 220, was getting healthy at 3,500 - but really hit at 4,000.

define hit? 1. cruising in OD on the hwy @ approx 75ish, between 2200-2400rpm. Punch it, 4-3 downshift occurs, thats where I want the power to be, but not just starting there, but not much lower than that either, thats approx between 3000-3500 rpm, depending on TP.

don't really want to rev much higher than 6300 rpm.

I under stand that hp is the application of tq at higher rpm.
