intake for a 4.8 ?

Question intake for a 4.8 ?

thinkin about putin a camaro intake on a 4.8 thats in a 2001 silverado. good idea or bad?

I would be worried that that ports are bigger on the intake than the heads, and that you get some reversion at higher RPM. Also, 4.8 are not real torque monsters, but you might loose some torque because you will loose velocity through the runners, due to their larger size.

I would be almost inclined to put a larger throttle body on there and see if that would help. have you done any air box mods? You can also take the screen out of the mass airflow sensor for more air flow.

I would avoid this at all cost..I have heard nothing good about it, it wont give you any noticable gain...you would be better off buying a aftermarket one.

it's been proven it doesnt help to remove it

I would avoid modifying the MAF any; including putting an aftermarket one on. The ls1 intake won't really give you any gains but an ls6 will yield better flow at higher rpms. Intake manifold swaps has been a hot topic for discussion lately. You should be able to find some good information by doing a search on this subject.

I have taken the screens out of Mass Airflows on 5 different pickups and had zero issues at all. Never thrown one code, and after I hooked the battery back up and drove it awhile I liked the way it ran and sounded. Definitely worked for me.

descreen adds like .5 hp...i guess thats on a mustang dyno though..maybe .7hp
