Default Intake

Hey, I'm new to the truck scene.. and was just wondering if I could get a few tips for starting out... I just bought a 99 Sierra 1500 Z-71 5.3... Which brand intake receives the most gains and what muffler would sound best on my truck? Thanks for any help

everyone's favorites seem to be the KN FIPK series, Volant CAI, AEM bruteforce, and a few others, i've had good luck with the KN intakes and the volants. as for mufflers, everyone will tell you magnaflow, they're nice, but why have a muffler? lol

I saw a dyno a while back on a 5.3 that showed aem made the best numbers over k&n volant and a few others, thats why i decided over the k&n kit also the aem uses a dry filter which is nice. k&n makes good products though no doubt, i had a fipk on a 98 jeep wrangler i had. Most of the aftermarket intakes like the k&n aem and a few others use the same concept and i doubt you would be able to tell the difference between them unless you were putting down some big numbers. You cant really go wrong with anything aftermarket IMO.

ok, thanks for the suggestions. I'll probably go with the K&N and a magnaflow. Thanks again
