Default Installed Dynatech Headers and getting SES light

Hey guys,
I just installed the dynatech headers on my 2001 Silverado with a 5.3 and keep getting an SES light. The codes are 0171 and 0174: System too lean, right bank and left bank. I've cleared them out three times now and I'm assuming this has something to do with the O2 sensors. I also got a 0401 - EGR, insufficient flow detected - one time but cleared that out and haven't seen it since. Any ideas or sugestions?

Maybe the ECM just needs to get use to the headers, it will adjust for A/F from the signal it gets from the 02 sensors. Did you disconnect the battery for a while to reset the ECM? It will help it learn faster.

Tune the truck. When you move your O2 sensors, it throughs off all the L-trims.

I had the Hypertech tuning on it and took it off to give the computer time to learn with the new headers. No joy. After about 300 miles still getting the light. I didn't try disconnecting the battery though. I'll do that now. Rick, are you referring to a different type of tuning? I hate these computers in these things

Disconnecting your battery or taking your hypertech off is not going to fix it. Like I said, its in the tuning and the Hypertech is not considered tuning.

So what's considered tuning? How do I get it done?

Tuning would be getting a custom tune done with edit programs. you have to find someone in your area.
