Sounds like you need to burp your cooling system. You can have an air bubble that will not allow the cooler coolant to flow in. Also, a 160 stat doesn't mean you are going to run 160*. You should run around 178 with good fans, and in the mid 180's with the clutch fan. Cooler when running on the highway. Oh and the temp guage doesn't read correctly, around 210 is 198.

Yea, did you make sure to bleed the cooling system? The instructions that came with my hypertech 160 stat says how to do so.
I told the HPP3 that I have the stat in to advance the timing or whatever, and it still runs at the 1/4 mark if it were the gas tank. It runs there constantly.
I ran the AC one hot day and it shot up to the temp when I had the stock tstat. What gives?

The 160 degree thermostat opens earlier than the 195 degree stock thermostat but has nothing to do with engine temps above 195 degrees. On a cool day at highway speeds you may never see temps more than 175 degrees but on a hot day in traffic you may see 210 degrees depending on the components and condition of your cooling system.
