Default Injectors or Fuel Pressure

Went out and did some tuning with the new 6.0 last night. Please realize that I am a novice at tuning. Anyway logs showed that on top end of some short pulls the my narrow band 02's were in the 890 range. I had read a post by Zippy that stated that with a Radix top end should not drop below 930 (I think) to be safe. I went in and adjusted the PE fueling and now from about 5300 rpm on my inj duty cycle is getting over 90% topping to 100% to maintain 930-940 on the O2's.

Should I consider new injectors? If so the 60# Ford SVO units? Will they fit under the Radix rail. Think you have to shim the rail to fit.

Should I try a fuel pressure booster pump.

My fuel pressure at WOT is about 59 PSI. Always has been since Radix install. There is a what appears to be a pressure adjust on the stock FPR. Anybody ever play with that?

What size injectors and what kind of pump are you running now? If your duty cycle is that high, you need bigger injectors for sure. As long as your pressure is not dropping during the run your pump is probably OK but what you will more than likely see when you go with bigger injectors is that your pump won't be able to keep up then you will see the pressure dropping. A boost-a-pump will help depending on just how inadequate the pump is. I have one on my truck and it works good.

You really need a wideband to tune with, using the stock 02's is really really just a rough guideline. Once you get a wideband you will realize just how hard it is to depend on the narrow band readings. I suggest an LC1 with the XD1 gauge.

Anyways, if you are interested in a set of Motrons that only have about 1,000 miles on them let me know and I will make you a deal. Someone else will hafta chime in as to if they will fit the Radix, I am not familar with how that is setup.

I just bought the LC1 w/XD1 gauge, and I am having it installed Tuesday morning.
Please forgive me for this stupid newbe questions but I am not to mechanically inclined, When this is installed and you are useing the logging software that comes with it what all is it going to display for you besides A/F ratio? The box shows A/F and RPM's How is it tapping in to register the RPM's also will it show boost?

42# Injectors. Think they are the 8.1 GM Marine units. Stock intank + Walbro fuel pump on the frame rail. Fuel pressure stays rock steady at 58psi. Most guys say they see 62psi with same setups hence the queston about the adjustment on the FPR. I might pull the FPR and try another one. I really think you can adjust them.

Just trying to keep things safe, even if to the rich side until I can get a wideband setup for the detailed tuning. I know the narrow bands aren't the definative gauge. All I have for now.

I was thinking that I am at border line on injectors and getting to the end of power mods for this truck. Don't really want to go with bigger injectors unless I have to. Hence the question on the voltage booster for the pump. Might be enough to get what I need?

I'll do a little research on the Motrons, but you may already have a bite.

Thanks,
