Default injectors 101! please!

I just searched for the info I want and I can't find it. My truck is at 269 rwhp and I am going to let futral put stage 1 1/2 stage heads and a cam on it. Do I need new injectors? This is the LAST thing I am doing to my truck. I want to stay naturally aspirated. But I also don't want to risk any kind of detonation or any other problems that come with a lack of fuel. I do have LS1 Edit if that matters any.

If I do need new injectors, where are they? Do you change them like spark plugs, or does your intake have to come off? Wiring needs to be altered? Sorry for my ignorance but would appreciate as much opinions as possible. Also which companys on the right side of this page sells injectors for our trucks?

Thanks

Easiest way to tell would be to get some dyno time with a wideband O2 sensor, if you're running lean at all, then try bumping the fuel pressure a bit. You should be checking the fuel pressure during the run as well to make sure that you arent exceeding 100psi during the run, but people rarely check. If you're staying under 100psi and not running lean, then you'll be fine. If I needed new injectors, the only place i'd buy them would be from RC, I've seen the difference between the balance on their injectors and the flow patterns vs. some other makers of injectors and Russ has them beat hands down.

I have no idea what my pulsewidth is. Allen at Futral does my LS1Edit, and he will reprogram it after the heads/cam install. I hope he knows what to look out for to see if I need bigger injectors.

Somebody know how to install them? The questions on my initial post?
Thanks.

If you get the right injectors, then they will be plug and play with your existing wiring.

Changing them is simple, unbolt the fuel rail, pop out the stock injectors, pop in the new ones.

um, no. the way to tell if you are maxing out your injectors is with the duty cycle. you need a scan tool of some sort to determine this by looking at the pulsewidth at WOT and at the highest RPM you will be running. once you have your max pulsewidth figured out, you can use this table http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/dutycycle1.html to see what your duty cycle is. anything over about 80-90% and your injectors need to be upgraded. RC Engineering is a good place to look as well as Racetronix. i personally have the Racetronix 57#'ers.

and that is not entirely true either. Racetronix i know has injectors available with the Multec connector that will plug right in, but you will only find these available up to a certain size. some injectors will require spacing/modifying the fuel rail as well as the crossover tube. if you are dead set on changing them, try a set of the 8.1 injectors, they will plug right in with no mods. ask BIGTEX about them, he knows more about them than i do. keep in mind, ANY different injector MUST be tuned in EDIT.
