Default Info. on 05 Fans

I'm trying to get everything together for an 05 efan swap on my truck. Right now it has a 28 inch radiator, I know I need a 34", but what else? I anyone can make a list, let me know. Part Numbers would be very helpful. I'm going down to Nelson in a couple of weeks so I need to get every thing together.

Also what cam would you guys recommend for a 2000 Z71, I really want to keep most of the low end and really can't afford a stall to go with it right now, but I will eventuall get one. Also, I really dont want to rev it to high to get the power out of the cam. Any recommedations will help it would be great if I could go down there and get it all done in one shot. The cam I'm considering as of right now is the Comp Cam 54-412-11 (212/218 522/529 LSA 114). Any input? Also would 918's do the trick or would dual be better? Also, I do want to hear the cam a little.

Here's a link to creederado's 05 e-fan write up, it includes pics and part numbers: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...+official+2005

Here's a quick list off the top of my head...

34" radiator
05 e-fans (got mine at G&R auto parts)
Nelson harness (you could make your own, but this harness is the ****!)
2 bolts and washers for the efans (can't remember what size, but the info's in creed's write up)
PCM tuned to turn fans on and off
zip ties, etc.
coolant

Optional: 160* t-stat
145 amp alt and longer belt

I don't know part numbers, but you need a 34" radiator, a set of fans, a wiring harness, a set of radiator bolts, and a tune (if you plan to have the pcm control the fans). You can also get a standalone fan controller with a temp probe that goes into the radiator, but I haven't heard a lot of good things about those.

Damn beat me to it. You don't need washers though, if you get a set of OEM bolts from the dealer (I think $12 for the set) they have the washer installed already.

I would recommend talking to Vinci about his Ultra Torque cam. I went that route, but I have the Radix so my results won't be the same as yours Vinci has great customer service. Cam specs are 210/218-551/551-116. I asked for a good cam for low end, offroading, and towing, with a stock stall. That's what he recommended. I asked him also about the 918 springs, he said they are brittle and didn't recommend them, but a lot of guys here are running them and I haven't heard any problems. Vinci sells Crane dual springs, and the cam is from Crane as well. I got my whole package from them and was really happy with it - cam, springs, titanium retainers, new seats and seals, 1.8 roller rockers, and shortened pushrods. Pricey, but you get what you pay for IMO and I would do it all over again.

Comp just announced 3 new cam grinds that are specifically for trucks...they seem pretty interesting. Here's a link to a thread with some more info:
