Hey guys I have a 2006 Chevy 1500 and I was wondering how I can increase the power in it. Its a 5.3 L v-8. If i was to go up a hill with the trailer and consitatly press on the pedal it wont do anything then it will all of a sudden jump hard and gun it. I would like more towing power and a more consistant increase in speed if you know what im trying to say. Is there anything I can do? I want more power also so that I can pull a boat easier too.

do some a few tranny uprades first to make it more reliable like servos, shift kit, things like that then slap a magnacharger on it, problem solved.

 

4.30 ~ 4.56 gearing. while you won't be adding any performance to the engine, it will feel like you gained roughly 60 RWHP.

when you mash the accelerator and it sounds like crickets chirping for a few seconds and then wakes up is in the tune. get rid of the TM and abuse mode.

 

shift kit, servo, stall, gear 4.10, locker, cold air intake, header, catback, and hptuner or efilive tune. You will be happy with this. Also maybe you want cam kit too?
