Default Impressions of Vig3200 and other stuff...

For all who didn't know, I had a Vigilante 3200 torque converter, Transgo shift kit and Superior billet intermediate and overdrive servos installed earlier Monday.
All I can say is WOW
Yea yea, I know it's a 4.8 so shut up
From a complete stop, I can't mash the gas without peeling out across an intersection...it's awesome

If I ease on it for a couple seconds, then mash it, I still slip a bit but when it hooks up, it pulls ******' hard.
When I first pulled off the lot, I still had the HPP3 shift firmess on. I took it off when I stopped over at MacADaYear's pad and didn't really notice that much of a difference.

It does have odd driving habits, but I suppose that's normal for a stall. I have no idea, this is my first vehicle with a V8...much less with an aftermarket stall.

Now I understand what you guys mean when you say its a "loose"verter. You push the gas it doesn't move/respond like before. The best way I can describe it is like when you drive a manual, and you give a lot of gas, but only let out the clutch halfway, so yea it's moving, but it feels like its slipping or something...you get me?

This is my only concern:
The only thing I noticed that I thought may be a problem/doesn't sound right is when I go WOT and shift 1-2. When it shifts, it shifts nice and hard, but the problem is that it makes this chirping sound (I'm pretty sure it isn't the tires breakin loose, MacADaYear was with me so he knows what I'm talking about).
Does anyone know what this could be? I'll get an inside cab vid and hopefully you can hear this sound.
Overall, my truck is WAY more fun to drive
I have EFI Live and LS1Edit in the mail...
Now I'm savin up for a 6 liter

I got the shift kit off ranwalk I think it was. New but box was opened.
Most places sell em for $100.
I went to this place called HP Transmissions in Chatsworth. About 15 minutes from me.
The place was very clean, and the guy I talked with, Alex, was very informative and helpful. Two thumbs up

I was quoted anywhere from 125 to 160 for the install.

I called one place and asked about the verter and a shiftkit and they quoted me 300. If they would have done one and not the other, it was going to be 190 for the verter and 150 for the shift kit. I did them both myself after that. After doing it, I don't think it was worth that much to have it done. Maybe 150 for the verter, but that's only cause the tranny has to come out.

Good ****! You'll be set once you get that 6.0 liter How would you rate the converter you got to the 4:10's with posi in terms of value? If it's possible to compare the two. I'm getting 4:10's and posi in a few days, but I'm also considering a 3000 or 3200 converter so I'm kinda of confuses as to what to get...maybe both.

Cool deal man, I really need to get a converter but, my mind is ever changing.

The chirping noise could be your serpentine belt slipping just a bit from the high rpms and hard trans shift. The one in my car used to do that on a 4th-2nd downshift with the ST3800 converter. That's what happens when you go from cruising at 2200rpm in 4th to 5000+rpm in 2nd in like 1/2 second. What you hear could be something similiar.

I agree with him, I used to have a mustang that when I would speed shift the serpentine belt would chirp like that...

Is this a bad thing? What can I do to get rid of it?
Oh yea guys I forgot to say....I have one washer in the 1-2 accumulator and drilled the big holes.
The 1-2 shift is AWESOME @ WOT
It doesn't break the tires loose though
LS1Edit and EFI Live are in the mail, so I'm gonna get rid of torque management to see if that helps. The 2-3 shift it feels like it falls flat on its face.
