I'm lovin' my truck again...

I've been lurking the site lately and like to thank the folks on this board for recommendations. I own an 03 Suburban 5.3l that I haven't modded in months.
I finally installed a K&N FIPK and Magnaflow (#12198- 3" single in/2.5" dual out 14 inch) muffler with dumps before the axle. Damn! Why haven't I done these mods sooner. I recommend this muffler... mellow at idle, mellow drone (but not annoying) at highway speeds and very agressive WOT.
I am now looking into a PCM tune from Nelson or PCMforless but need to take care of the 60k maintenance. Is the 60k maintenance worth doing at the dealer? Just trying to weigh out the option of paying $700 for maintenance versus doing the work myself on the driveway. Any advice will help. Thanks!

What does the 60k mile service you speak of consist of???? If it ain't broke...don't fix it. Other than tune-ups and regular oil changes, I don't fix anything that doesn't need fixin'.

they give you a big list that even includes packing the wheel bearings which cannot be done. do it yourself. change all fluids-plugs-wires-and let her rip. (has the tranny fluid ever been changed). get it flushed.

I may be missing a few things but here is a list of the 60k maintenance... worth the $700
Drive Axle Service
Check rear/front axle fluid level and add fluid as needed. Check constant velocity joints and axle seals for leaking.
Interval: Every 7500 miles
Engine Oil and Filter Change
Tire Rotation
Engine Air Cleaner Filter Inspection
Fuel Filter Replacement
Transfer Case Fluid Change
Evaporative Control System Inspection
Check all fuel and vapor lines and hoses for proper hook-up, routing and condition. Check that the purge valve works properly, if equipped. Replace as needed.
Interval: Every 60000 miles
Cooling System Service
Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Inspect hoses. Clean radiator, condenser, pressure cap and neck. Pressure test the cooling system and pressure cap.
Interval: Every 150000 miles or 60 months since last service whichever occurs first
Spark Plug Replacement
Spark Plug Wire Inspection
Engine Accessory Drive Belt Inspection
Brake Inspection

thats not worth 700 bucks alot of what you listed is just "inspections" not replacement meaning they look at it and tell you if you need a new one then they tack on the part to the price. You can look at belts and hoses and tell if there is anything wrong yourself dosnt take a rocket scientist. The xfer case and tranny flush by themselves should run around 200 so where are they getting the remaining 500 from? thats why theyre called stealerships

Like those guys said, most are just inspections which is usually just a look-over of something. These are money-making gimmicks for them...service carries the dealerships, not sales.
If you don't like worknig on it,a friend could do it and save you a lot of money. If you have the service manuals, they'll tell you what and when to check things.
I've never taken any vehicle in for those things. But if money's not a problem, what the heck?

The dealership will most likely not replace most of that, just look at it.
