Default I'm going NA

I uninstalled my nitrous set up yesterday and now I need some tips to go faster NA. My current mods are KNN FIPK, 224 cam and 918 springs, Pacesetter longtubes with no cats into a single flowmaster, Yank TT 3000, 4.10 gears, and a Nelson tune. I just installed my new tune for the mods above and the truck does really good exept for down low. It only flashes to 2000 rpms and it takes it a little while to reach 3000 rpm. After 3000 it pulls hard. I am thinking of a smaller cam so that I can take off at 3000 like I did with the stock cam. Did I oversize the cam or can more tuning help me make more power down low? I am already planning on a 3'' magnaflow exiting in front of the back tire but need opinions on what else will help.

well the converter was setup for NOS right? if so then that why it only stalls to 2k NA.
either get it restalled or get more hp lol to make it stall again to 3k.

long tube headers, get rid of the flowjunk, or put in cutout, underdrive pulley, elect. fans, port or polished t/b. then more tuning.

What he said, also If your going NA, I would try and raise the CR by having some head work done with some milling; that may be worth some extra power.

Since all of my problems started after the cam swap I'm starting to think that I may have oversized it and that my truck will work better with a smaller cam. Any ideas on a cam for my 5.3 ? The stock cam worked good for me and the new 224/224 cam is too big so maybe something smaller that I can still use the 918 springs with.

I was using the vinci 047 cam without stall or headers and netted me a constant 13.7 passes. I recently installed a built tranny and stall and long tube headers, and cant wait to see what this small cam is capable of. Spec are 210/218 532-532

I think with a stall reflash, you would really love that coverter alot more. You would probably want to go back to a 3.73 gear though, IMO. Goshawk23 pretty much has the same setup you have(except a 3200 fuddle), so give him a pm. That 224 really likes to stretch on out. Mine really likes to pull up there to that 6500 shift point, and I really think it would like it more with the ls6 intake installed.
