Default I'm getting serious about this twin turbo idea....

But I've got a couple of questions before I spend the money on the turbos........

I'm looking at two different sets of TO4B's.....here are the specs:

The first set is: TO4B .60 A/R compressor housings with 3" intake, 2" outlets and 54mm compressor wheels, The exhausts are TO4B housings with 1.15 A/R inlets....I know these are pretty big...but are they TOO BIG for a daily street-driven truck that HAS TO RUN PERFECTLY ???

The second set is: TO4B .60 A/R compressor housings with 3" intake, 2" outlets and 47mm compressor wheels, The exhausts are T3 housings with 1.00 A/R inlets....these seem more along the lines of what I could reasonable use

Assuming the use of the second set what kind of spool-up RPM will I be looking at ??....are we talking instantaneous here or will it give me a little bit of room between idle and 5psi ??

What kind of max boost are these capable of on this application ??...I'm looking to do between 6-8psi initially and move up from there as money and parts permit

Thanks !!

the twin turbos or very nice, from what i know about them is that they are not really ment for everyday driving, depending on the set up and block size you can be looking at anywhere from 600 hp to 1200 hp, 6 psi to 18 psi,
i have only heard one, it spooled up very fast on the rev, and when let off of the gas it sounded like a jet powering down.
i have been looking at the one on banks web site it is a bad *** puppy.

try doing a t3/to4b hybrid or a t3/to4r hybrid. spool much quicker than just a striaght to4b

On a 6.0L even the 54mm would spool reasonably quick, and the twins should be perfect for a daily driven truck. They will spool faster than a big single(if comparibly built) But, the 54mm might be a bit of overkill as far as how much power they will support. Also those turbos will put out WAY beyond 6-8 psi. I would say that they should support at least 20 PSI, and tons of power.

How fast do you want these to spool, and what is an amount of power that you would like to be able to support when it is all said and done?

I'd like them to spool just off idle (~2000 rpms) and support 600ish hp (I know they'll handle WAY more than that but the rest of the supporting parts WON'T just yet)...I'd like to run 8psi on the street...

If you want them to spool that soon you may need to go with the smaller ones, or to go with some hybrids like hefdaddy said. In order to hit 600 hp you will have to run more than 8 psi though.

8psi at the minimum......as long as it's reliable I'll run all I can get out of it

A company called Areocharger made a twin turbo truck, but they never went into production with it and have taken it off of thier website. They used the stock exhaust maifolds mounted backwards and up side down, and it still fit with the stock fan.

Ill see if I can find a pic of it for you guys.
