This is important. Several people have made this mistake.

When looking for a used 6.0 motor it needs to come out of a 2001 or newer truck. It will have aluminum heads on it and the crank flange should be flush with the seal. If the flange sticks out past the seal you will not be able to mate the motor up to the tranny. People have tried and were not able to get it to work.

Mine stuck out on the crank but Im going with an aftermarket crank anyway. Good info though.

 

good point, you can still use the block to build a motor with. one other thing is if you are going with a 4l80e then the crank will work but i would still try and avoid building anything with that crank just becasue it would be hard to sell later to anyone.
