Default I think my in-line pump just died

I just went down to get some coffee and some gas. When I came back out of the gas station, I started the truck and the fuel pump was whining like a mo fo. fuel pressure was jumping all over the place from 0-60. Truck was surging and almost stalling. I got home and the noise is coming from the inline pump i think. when i turn the key it screams, not whines. The think is less than a year old. wtf?

I'm gonna bypass it later today to see if the problem goes away. If it turns out to be the pump, should I just replace the pump or should i get a new intank pump? Does anyone know if there is a replacement intank pump that is plug n play?

No plug and play setups that I know of for our year model trucks. I got my inline pump form nelson performance for like 120 or 130, I would just replace it since you have already cut the fuel line out for the space of the pump.

That sucks about the fuel pump. Not a lot of options ofr you there. Either get another in line or go ahead and get the intank version. The inline is easier to install if you already have one.

As far as an intank pump goes you loose the resivor the pump draws from so any heavy accleration, or nasty hills with less than a half a tank of gas and you start getting problems

so yeah, same **** this morning on the way to work. couldn't touch the gas without it crapping out on me. took like a mile to get up to 40mph. Then on the way home today, it ran fine. the horrible noise is gone. I'm guessing i had some crap stuck in there that broke loose. I need to get a new fuel filter in soon.

The Holley 12-902 will work. Many have used it.

son of a bitch. the fuel pump started screaming again today. i think my intank pump might have died and the inline is fighting to keep up and failling miserably. when in disconnect the power to the inline, the truck won't start. this makes me think the in tank pump is dead. any thoughts on that theory?
