I know one thing, its a whole new beast.

When I did my cam swap my truck did the same thing. It's normal whenever doing a cam swap on a motor with hyd lifters. When you go through setting up the lifters and torquing the rocker studs down, you squish all the oil out of the lifters and they lose their prime. I had a 2 lifters that wouldn't pump up even after idling for 5 minutes. I had to go for about a 10 minute drive around town raising and lowering the RPM's got the oil warm and the pressure to fluctuate and pump the 2 bum lifters back up. All is well now as well

Hell after you work on stuff for a while you get to the point where when something breaks its not an "oh ****" occurence its a chance to upgrade
Makes things a hell of alot easier to deal with atleast for me since I have a knack for blowing stuff up/ breaking things.
