I need help...more of a direction to take
#1
I am wanting to start getting some performance out of my truck. But I do not know where to start. Idealy I want a 6.0L cam/headers/boltons/tuning. Also I will probably put in a 4L80E with a 3000 stall shift kit. But for now I am planning on just getting some power out of the 4.8. Should I just start with headers/exhaust, and mild tuning?

I am going to get some 16" DRs and put them on my stockies. As far as everything else, those were also on the plate. But I dont want to start on the tranny until I get the cam. So those mods will be towards the end. Unless i say to hell with it and have a turbo put on. Then I would still need the tranny worked, and converter...too many choices for a non-decisive person such as myself

Who ever said basically everything you can put on the 6.0, has the right idea!! Dont waist your money on any internal engine parts!! The only thing I would focus on is the overall goal and that is 6.0/cam/heads/boltons/tuning. Well the parts for bolt-ons are, for the most part, interchangable (MAFS, tstat, intake, exhaust system, e fans,TB bypass mod). Heads again it depends on the long term goal of the project 6.0, If you want to go NA then Id suggest not doing anything with the stock heads you have now since they'll raise the compression when you decide to spray
6.0 heads will flow better and when ported will do wonders for you! Any heads that increase the CC volume will decrease your CR which is what you want for forced induction. Lower the volume to obviously raise it back up. Really the only thing I'd wasit money on is the bolt ons in your situation, because anything done to the tranny will be a waist if you go to the 80e, and anything done to the internals on the 4.8 will probably be smaller than what you want for your bigger 6.0 so you'd end up buying new parts anyway. Focus on the lower 15's high 14's for now with the bolt ons and maybe some spray!! Then save your money for the real project, trust me it makes your life alot easier instead of trying to sell used parts that nobody can use cause they dont keep their 4.8's anyway
hope that helps with a little direction
