Have some buddy stick a rag, hold it in the exhaust pipe, get under the truck, listen for leaks..

Additional noise you get with headers vs. cast iron manifolds. Some headers are worse than others. The pacesetters I had were pretty loud but didnt leak.

LT's have a fairly loud tick by nature. I think the bigger the primaries are the louder it is. I had thorley headers on my old 350 and I never really heard much, but those were 1 5/8" tri Y headers, my new 1 7/8" ARH are much louder and honestly annoying at times. I'm really **** about this kind of stuff though. The thinner and longer pipes echo the sound of the valves. My guess is if you climbed under the truck and listened you could hear the tick echoing through the pipes. I thought I had an exhaust leak for the longest time... it was just something I had to come to terms with.
