Exclamation I have a question?

will cutting my cats off set my check light? one of my cats now is messed up and it set off my light i have a 2004 silverado 5.3 and i just need to know if i cut them off if it will fix my problem or make it worse?

yes it will throw a code, it will throw p0420 and p0430 if i remember correctly. This is 2nd o2 bank 1 and bank 2. all they do is measure temperatures, and do not affect AFR at all, so it will run the same as before, you'll just have a check engine light untill you get them tuned out.

It will actually run and sound a little bit better, at least mine did. Any tuner can delete those two codes pretty cheap. i'd say do it. Or you can go on ebay and buy a replacement cat.

You will need to have them removed out of your trucks tune. You should give Wheatley a shout on here he comes highly recommended by alot guys on here you can send him a PM or check out his website. look to your right a link should be on the side bar. There are several tuners on here that are sponsors of the site. hopefully that will point u in the right direction.
