Default I have a problem.

I don't know how to classify it though. I installed e-fans, but they never turned on. I looked in hptuners, and realized that the engine coolant temp was never getting to the fan turn-on point. (195*)

Before I installed the e-fans, the egine temp was always at 210, or whatever straight up on the factory dash is.

I searched on here and found that I may need to burp my coolant system. I revved the motor while sitting in the cab and could hear what sounded like air running through my heater core.

For reference, outside air temp is about 10-15* right now. The heater works fine.

Could I have air in my system, is my t-stat bad, or could this be something more serious?

Ok, so I lowered the turn on temp for the fans to 190, and they both work. It seems that with the ambient temp being so low, my truck stays below 200*. There is no water in my oil, so I will try burping the system according to this write-up someone on here posted.

Did you even touch the cooling system when you installed the e-fans? Sometimes people get a rushing water noise sound coming from their heater core which is caused by something along the lines of it being clogged, which i think is usually caused by special people at lube shops putting the wrong coolant in.

I did not touch the cooling system. A long time ago I added some dex-cool mixed with distilled water. Every now and then, I get a "low coolant" light that goes away after a few seconds.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the cold weather around here. 2 weeks ago it was -20. Tomorrow morning, i'm going to drain the radiator and flush the whole system.

how is it a problem? if there was a problem with the coolant system it would be overheating, it's just to freaking cold to need the fans right now. The factory dash is WAY off on most trucks, I've watched mine while driving around and compared it in VCM Scanner and there is a good 10-15* difference without a change on the dash gauge. Just relax and leave it be, when summer time rolls around they'll come on as needed.
