I Have Pics Of My Problem!!!!
#1
I have this Lq4 block that i had hot tanked twice. The first time was done after all the parts were off. Then like the idiot that I am i let it sit in the garage by the door and rain hit the block and a lot of surface rust appeared. Then i took it back to clean that mess and had it honed and put bearings in it and it was covered with a black plastic bag but it was riding in the back of my Av for awhile and it collected moisture and crap and to my surprise again the rust came back but now the honed cylinders have it. Anyone have a few god ideas for me? The pics are attached for your pleasure!!!
Thanks

you need to keep the engine out of the elements...the garage should be fine, just keep it away from moisture
spray it down with a rust removing chemical and inspect it. I would spray something like WD-40 on it, it leaves a residue that will resist moisture.

If you're not going to work on it right away, you should always give it a coating of tranny fluid - this keeps the rust off. I had one stored for six years before selling it, no problem.
