Are those heads milled at all or anything? Your compression has to be shitty with stock 243s and a 4.8L

Ok no my heads arent milled but ive read that the new 07 have 243 with them and to make the compression better the gave the truck/suvs flat toped pistons... well ive seen my pistons and there flat toped? any suggestions to that?

Different. 243's on a 2004 4.8L will drop your CR, cost you bottom end.

Wait...you're only doing 15.6-15.7 with heads, Z06 cam, a tune, and a regular cab? What's going on, dude?

I've gotten my near-stock(filter and unbolted exhaust once I get to the track...), no weight-reduction or tune, ECSB with the same engine, tranny, and rear-end(I'm assuming you have an open diff, right?) to do a 16.1

My truck also has 161k miles on it....

You've gotta be putting down better times than that! Find out how you do at a real track, because that doesn't sound right...

the 243 heads are good for your 4.8 but like mentioned you got to mill them!! your compression dropped quite a bit if you just slapped them on like that...

I run 14.9-15.1 in a 99 rcsb with just cai, lt's w/ory, free mods and a hypercrap on the the trans only. G-80 with 3.42's. 13.7 on the spray. I'd agree if those are your mods then something is definately wrong or you need to put it on a real track see what it does.

Ok my friend has convinced me that my pistons are dished i just have alot of carbon build up on them... i feel a little retarded for thinking they were flat toped because ive seen them twice now and could swore to god they were flat toped, but i must be wrong. So back to how the hell can i get my 0-30 better. Should i mill the 243 heads? if so how much. Or should i put my 5.3's back on and havethe intake valves ported bigger to 2.00? Thanks

Ive been to a track with just my cam before and ran 15.5 at like 88mph with out any tuning. i dont have the time slip any more. but i thought my pistons were flat toped thats why i put the 243 heads on thinking i would be ok on CR, but i guess im not. Also my g-tech has only been off by .2 of a second at worse before, so im pretty sure its reading right sadly..
