Default I am interested in opinions about a new performance truck.

There is a new Chevy performance truck coming soon that will be sold at a few select dealerships. (To see in person go here...http://www.joegibbsperformance.com/) My dealership is one of the lucky ones to get these trucks. Since I am the resident car nut around my dealership the owner has put me in charge of the whole program. I even have to choose how the trucks are ordered. This is where I am at odds. I would like to get feedback on how you would want one of these trucks if you were buying one yourself. I ordered my first four today. I can't wait to get the first one. I just don't want to explain why they are not selling because I should have ordered a different way.

The different configurations and prices are as follows...
-Reg cab 4.8 V8 / 5-speed std trans $30,150.00
-Reg cab 5.3 V8 / 4 speed auto $34,100.00
-Ext cab 5.3 V8 / 4 speed auto $39,100.00

The avalible options are.....
-Gibbs designed leather/suede seating $1250.00
-Gibbs/Magnuson Superchager which also gives the truck a 5yr/75k powertrain warranty $5100.00
-carbon fiber SC cover $360.00
-Gibbs/Baer brake package $1250.00
-Gibbs suspension package $TBD

So let me have some opinions on how I should order these things.

I would say 5.3 RCSB with blower, CF cover depending on how it looks, and brakes

5.3 ECSB same but with leather and one without.

The theory behind that would be ... the RCSB one would be more the performance enthusiast minded being lighter and less 'loaded'. The ECSB would be more for the folks with money that want to go fast. Something a bit more classy.

Flyer, Thanks for the input. My thinking is similar to yours.

Tiburon, There is a link to the web site in my pst at the top. As for pricing it is pretty much set but all factory rebates or incentives do still apply. I have talked to several dealers that will be putting market adjustments above those prices. I don't plan on that happing at my dealership.

You could build your own for less.

yep, what blowmechevy said.....buy some trucks and some 6.0 motors, swap them in with a blower and a little cam and make more power. offer the brake upgrade if you want also.

If you look at those though, there is more to it than just the blower. They also do exhaust (whoptie), front fascia that doesn't look half bad, rims, tires, suspension package, optional brake package, and some other little things too.

If someone wants to do all the work themselves that is great but where can you get a supercharged truck with all the appearance accessories with a 5 yr/75k powertrain warranty and can get it all financed if they wanted to.

Very true. I did not notice that they offer a 5/75k warranty! Thats nice!

I do know that you can't change the boost on the Gibbs trucks the pulley is pressed/locked/glued/welded/wonder stickyed too the snout!
