Thanks for the info. guys. Just before I order could someone with HPTuners tell me if they are able to enable pin 33 and set A/C pressure settings for E fans? I have a Nelson
tune which he uses HPTuner and my understanding is only EFI live can enable/set pin 33 settings? As I have FACTORY E FANS AND HARNESS AND WANT E FANS TO WORK EXACTLY AS 05 UP 1/2 TONS with me being able to tweak settings as I want.
Thanks again for info.

If you have factory e-fans, you can change the settings for ECT only. Why do people want to have a/c pressure settings for their fans? I'm just curious.
BTW, HPTuners is working on adding support for what you're wanting to do that will hopefully be out in the next release.
Here's a screenshot of what your fan settings will look like:

When will the next release be?
I won't speak for others, but I don't like the idea of having the E fans on at highway speeds, on just because the A/C compressor is on, etc.

I'm unsure when the next release will be, but I think they're getting close. It's not guaranteed to be supported in the next release though.

My E-Fans aren't ever on at highway speeds because there's always enough air flowing to keep it cool, nor do my fans kick on just because the a/c compressor is engaged. It really doesn't matter honestly. If you put a 160* thermostat in your truck and keep the stock fan settings you will rarely have the fans turn on even during summer. Not saying that you should do that, but I experimented with that and those were the results. Right now with a 160 t-stat I have my fan1 turn on at 170 and fan2 at 180.

Thanks for the info. You have a 06 with factory E fans so they are already programed to work correctly. I have a 05 1500 HD which I need to enable
pin 33 to have it work like your truck. My reason for this info. is if HPTuners
is going to add this feature, than I can get Nelson to enable pin 33 and set this up the way I want. If not than I need EFI Live as it can enable pin 33.
If you are really interested P.M. me and I will give you the long story.
Thanks again for info.

Looking into HPT, pin 33 can already be enabled. They have the option for configuring the PCM for series parallel (2 fans). The only vehicles this would be an issue with are 99-02s that have Pin 33 set up for Auto Recirculation.

You are right, the 99-02 PCM's only get one fan control pin.. Does EFI give you another option?

Yes. We can define pin 33 as being used for auto recirc or fans. So, if you have a 99-02, you can run two fans, just would need to reconfigure that pin and wire it accordingly.

Sweet, thanks for pointing that out Justin. I got to reading a few threads last night on HPTForums and couldn't really grasp everything, but that makes since being able to switch the system to "2 fans"
