you'd need to put bigger valves in. Otherwise, Zippy did it and he said it has gobs of torque. It probably doesn't pull up top like the 317s though.

Aren't those heads kind of limited on the 4 inch bore of the 6.0? I thought I read somewhere they were. I might be wrong, maybe that is why you need the bigger valves. What are the other specs of Zippy's motor?

I would like to know how those head work with a 4 in bore. So many people say they think, or my mom's sister's cousin's aunt's boyrfriend heard blah blah blah. I like getting facts and knowing for sure. I believe somewhere I read the those heads on that bore presented a problem with flow or something, it also might have been in reference to putting the LS1 heads 241s I believe on the 6.0 block

search 862s on the internals section, you should find Zippy's tahoe build.
Otherwise compare on here:

2004 LQ4

TR224
224º/224º@.050"
.563"/.563"
112LSA

862 heads with Fererra 2.00" intake valves
LS6 springs
.015 milled

Do a search over on LS1 Tech. Many guys have went fast with those heads. I'm very happy with my results. Very torquey due to the compression and mild cam.

What's your compression Zippy?

I'm actually kind of at a disadvantage with the LQ9. I want to do the stage 2.5 5.3 heads, but my compression would be thru the roof with the 59cc chambers.

How is the top end on the 6.0 with those unported 5.3L heads?

Right now I keep the shift point to around 6k due to a stock trans, but it's plenty good to that point. My compression is somewhere around 10.8:1.
