do you have a one wheel wonder or what info would be good. but for the most part it will make noise. most the time clicking and in my buddies recient case loud thumping that got louder as you go = 3 teeth gone off the ring gear. but for the most part noise.

What do you have done to your truck? A rearend and a tranny? I am proud.

To do a visual check:

put rear on stands, disconnect drive shaft, drop diff cover and spin the ring gear. Look for broken or missing teeth on the ring gear or pinion gear.

With a limited slip, if you broke an axle shaft you would just loose all or most movemement from the vehicle when it's in gear. If it's a pinion shaft or carrier broken, again no forward movement when under power in gear.
