how much power lost with stock exhaust
#1
Got a Corsa touring muffler today so i could quite down my 6.0 LQ4 swap, and removed my corsa sport muffler, the muffler I bought was too short! What a bummer! So I got pissed and put the stock system on, seems to have lost alot of low / midrange power, is this going to ruin anything till I get another system, It also has a Nelson Tune which is now probally ****** useless. What would be a good quiet straight thru exhaust in at least 3" in / out for a 2002 Tahoe 4x4? Just Ordered a custom grind cam for Alot of low end torque, How much hp / tQ will i lose if install it with the stock exhaust, till i get another system. Thanks, everyone for the help

The stock system is not that bad on a Tahoe, some budget minded Silverado owners have added Tahoe mufflers because they have larger ID pipes. That said you can pickup 8 to 10 rwhp with a good catback system.Long tube headers can add about 15 to 20 rwhp and complement your custom grind cam quite well.

How will a good cat back affect the low rpm Tq?
I am concerned of the Tq 1000 - 1800 rpm, i.e. cruise/tow rpm.
I have read a lot of posts on where exhaust mods causing lost low rpm Tq, I dont dare to take the step yet.......
