Not tryin to be a d*ck, but why would you want to go from one 5.7 to another?

What performance goals do you have for the truck?

The swap wouldn't be that hard if you're mechanically inclined, but you would need to mod fuel lines, swap harnesses, do some exhaust work, and re-route vac lines

its not hard man, u can buy complete conversion kits if u want, i have a 1995 ck truck and am currently doing a 6.0 LQ4 conversion, the link to my build is below just give me a pm and i can walk you through some stuff if u like or u can also go into the classic section and see quite a few people that have already done it gl

he practically is, but at the same time he's not. the ls1 5.7 runs a ton better..

you should also look into a 6.0 swap

lol, 5.7 TBI = 210ish HP. 5.7 LS1 = 350ish HP. nearly 150hp-ish increase... thats why he would go from 5.7L to 5.7L..

if he is planning on just donig a motor swap, with no internal mods why would he want to look for a LQ4 or LQ9? they both make less (granted, the LQ9 only makes 5hp less on paper), but still. i can understand becuase of price, since the truck motors are considerably less than an LS1, but if he can find one for about $800-$1,200 i would rather IMO use the LS1.

the reason im goin with an ls1 is because i have one sittin in my shop back home....ive talked with my friend and he did a lt1 swap with his 4.3 out of his s10 and he had a book that showed him step by step. im very mechanicaly inclined! and i cant find anything for my truck that actually spells out everything that i need to do.
