Default how hard would this be?

How hard would it be to swap a supercharger on and off my truck(colorado) every 2 years for smog??

I have hptuners so once its been tuned swapping the tuning back and forth would be fairly easy.

just looking for some ideas/opinions on this.

you can check to see if Magnuson has a kit for your application that is CARB legal, I don't know.

They don't, infact the only kits out were W2W powertrain(bellyup) and RKsport(no longer making them)

As i said in another thread, this truck got bastardized by the aftermarket. Nitrous is still the big possibility, but a part of me wants to have power all the time.

So i'd have to find a shop to custom mount a generic kit.

Try STS turbo with one of there universal kits. This would be much easier to get through the PRC " Peoples Republic of California" smog process.

If you do the supercharger set-up once you go to smog check all you have to do is remove the supercharger, and not the whole set-up like the brakets. If you use one of the superchargers that have a built in oil sump this process will be even easier. Install your stock air cleaner, re-program and the political officer will be none the wiser.

I live in th OC, and I bought my truck becouse its the most up-gradeable one out there.

yeah hindsight is 20/20 i suppose. When i bought mine i was looking for a truck that i could use for weekend drag racing and maybe even autocross. I felt that a fullsize would be too heavy and sluggish for handling

Who'da guessed that there would be next to nothing for this truck.

anyhow i will look at the STS setup.
