Unless some dumbass doesn't tighten the plug down, usually it is.

I'm sure I had to of missed it when I snugged them down, it was number 8 that blew.

They're AC Delco Iridiums with about 40k on them

I'm sure that anything is possible, I'd think you'd about need raw fuel pouring out if there's air moving through the engine compartment, an atomized mixture would dilute extremely quickly... I'm sure if you turned enough RPMs to get a good mist of gas coming out of the head, it could do it... Scary thought.

Sometimes that wont even do it, I had a buddy and his MR2 locked up, we pulled the plugs to look in side, couldnt see any thing so I had him crank it over, that thing shot fuel out of the spark plug holes and 6 feet into the air, it scared the **** outta me. At any rate some how his tune took a dump and his fuel injectors were stuck open, and they filled the cylinders.

I think your fine, mustangs were notorious for doing that, even after they were tightened down good..

Anything can be fixed, just takes time and money, I was just worried, I've got a 600 mile trip coming up this weekend and I didn't have time to replace a head, and after just getting it together, I could already hear my father's voice in my head about how you shouldn't mod your only vehicle .

Worst case, helicoil it and be about your business... I've repaired several of the spark plug holes in these heads. Loc-tite the coil in and put a new plug in and down the road you go... Easy...
