im thinking of buying it from a guy , he took it out of a f-body
the specs are
214/224 dur.
523/535 lift, 114lsa
im just worried about the low lift, i thought i will need one around 550?
also at what rpm would this cam start to pull.
i dont want a crazy cam just sumthin mild with a lil lope and some mid range aqnd top end. i was thinking of buying this cam instead of a 02ls6 cam.thanks, denny

That cam IMO is going to need 1.8 rockers. Duration is nice for low end and mid range power. And is going to pull noticeable harder up top. Not enough lift IMO.
Why dont you look at the lingenfelter GT2-3. Most people wont recommend this cam N/A but im running it N/A with nitrous. And love it. Keeps nice low end power with my 2700 converter and 4.10 gears. I woudlnt mind running it on 3.42's if I had to. And pulls nice up top.

i would choose a different cam if i had to but , i am getting a deal on this one .i also could get a deal on a used f4 cam also but figured i would need some head work to run that cam. so ur sayin that the cam that i posted about wouldnt be that great unless i ran 1.8 rockers?

What are you looking for out of the cam? Reason I ask, is that the lift on that cam is almost identical to the comp 216/220 525/532 114 LSA. I used this cam when I had my 04 Crew Cab 5.3 and loved it. The only thing I had wanted was more lope to it, but it was a great cam, very streetable, worked well with my 2500 RPM stall. Dyno'd to 321 RWHP/305 RWTQ, with a makeshift tune w/ only about 20* of timing in it. I was pulling up to about 6400 with it, my best 1/4 time was 14.21 @ 96.5 mph in about 85-90 degree weather and a 4900# truck.

well the guy i was buying the cam from told me they took it out of a 02 z06 with a supercharger, they wanted bigger. thge only reason i was considering it because of the price he was giving me. but after talking to my buddy he said he would give me the same deal on his f4 the specs are 226/226-dur 575/575-lift 114lsa. i knwo i would have to get comp 918's and longer pushrods, but i have a tb converter, that stalls to about 2600rpm, so would this converter be efficient?he said i could use the tb stall and it would be fine since im not trying to get the best et or drag race anybody,it would be ok. his cam sounds great is his z28 but he also has afr 5.3 heads and longtubes though.like i said before i dont want nuthin really crazy but sumthin thatll let ya know im ther and build some good torque and top end.

I had the Comp 216/220 .525/.532 cam w/ a 114lsa. It was VERY streetable, but with little lope. Of course, you can find a 112lsa cam of similar specs, and it'll yield more lope if that's what you want. I have a 5.3 with stock manifolds, along with my just learning HPTuners tune in it. Best I ran before trans went South was 14.37 in an RCSB, but my tune's lacking. I went with more duration and higher lift for primarily the mid-range power (with hopefully more top end too). With a 3K stall TC & 4.10s, the main problem I have (even more than w/ the previous cam) is traction. I guess if you like burnouts, there's no issue, but I want a descent shot at the fastest RCSB ET on PT.net (might not ever get it, but it's worth a try for me).
I'd go with the F4, but I'm shooting for potential ability for greater performance. Extreme headwork may be in my future, but I gotta dump my stock manifolds for some LTs first. Mine will have to be custom for my setup (space-wise).
