I have a 2001 GMC Sierra with the 4.8/auto, Im in the process of buying an exhuast system. For the exhaust im going with the Gibson Super Truck Exhuast, for the headers im looking at Gibson too. GIBSON has two diff sets of headers for 99-02 Chevy/GMC truck with the 4.8,5.3,or 6.0. One of them is for air injection and the other is for non-air injection truck? How do I know if my truck has air injection? Thanks in advance for your help

 

Im Betting U Dont Have Air Injection Trust Me

 

The air injection unit sits behind the radiator overflow. Look for the tubes to come from that unit and Y out to the two exhaust manifolds. If you have a 2001 you have air injection.

 

my 2001 didn't have AIR injection, neither did my mom's 2001 yukon...they had EGR, but not AIR.

 

btw Bandit, save your money on the Gibson shortie headers and keep saving for a set of long tubes that will actually make power.

 

Well I do live in the peoples republic of California with the toughest smog laws in the world. Our trucks had AIR up untill 2002. Your just going to have to look.

yeah, i forgot about cali, they probably do have AIR there, just one more reason to stay the hell away from there. being that you're in texas bandit you're most likely safe, and the assurance that our women are hotter makes it that much better.
