Default how do you clear the ABS code?

I had the bright idea to jack the rear wheels off the ground and put the truck in gear to make it a lot easier polishing them, i guess since the front wheels werent rolling it threw a ABS code and the light is on now. is there a way to get that cleared, or do i have to go to the dealer? thanks

Um.....that houldnt have caused it. I have done this numerous times. YOu can unhook your battery and pull your ECM fuse. It will clear like any other SES code.

Just pull both the ECM I and ECM B fuses after you turn the ignition to the run (not start) position. Let it see for about 5 minutes then turn the ignition off and replace the fuses. That should clear the code for you.

Did the valve stem rip your finger off and you needed to drive to the emergency room, is that how you saw the SES light?

I too was wondering about the safety of doing this.....with the rear wheels off the ground and the truck in gear those tires could see 30-40mph due to not having any load placed on them.....and I'm not sure I'd want to try to polish MY wheels with them spinning 40 mph !!!!

Thanks for the info fellas, ill try that right now. Im almost positive that caused it because it came on right when i started the truck back up, unless it was a helluva fluke or something.
about the safety, im sure its not the safest thing in the world, but its not bad, i just put it in first and it only saw about 15 MPH because it was idleing around 1500 rpm. you do have to watch out for the valve stem, but i just did the outer and inner wheel and left the small part that the stem sits on to do by hand. the salt is hell on these wheels (i have the same ones as 1badHD)cut polish time down by about 2 hours

I found a new polish that cut my times down from 4 hours per wheel with mothers to only an hour per wheel. It uses both a cutting agent and a chemical agent whereas mothers is only chemical i believe.

Cooper's 1-866-4COOPERS

Only place I have been able to find it was at a Peterbilt outlet. I found it from my g/f's dad who trucks gasoline in those huge *** aluminum tanks. If a pic helps you look for it or find it i'll take one for you. It comes in a 16oz bottle btw.
