The studs are pressed in so, after breaking the end off, you have to back them out with an air-chisel in order to put new bolts and nuts in... After that though its an easy task to unbolt or bolt it up anytime you want...

Fabricate yourself a set of open headers that bypass the entire factory exhaust system. It might be a good idea to have them exit behind the doors so you don't burn your leg when you get in and out of the truck which won't be too often after you do this mod. Next go to a NHRA Nat event. There are two left this year. Vegas and Pamona. Buy a 55 gal drum of Nitromethanol from the VP Racing Fuels truck if they'll sell it to you. Good Luck! Pour in the nitro and turn the key. You'll get that dragster sound for a while, but no telling for how long. Nitro makes a melodious popping sound and it smell good too, but it makes your eyes burn a little. Well nothings perfect. Remember to tight your gas cap real good. Nitro evaporates very quickly.

with the stock cam, it lopes pretty hard!!
i had two one-chamber flows; sounded deep and good for me; everyone's head would turn when i drove by. i might end up getting me a couple for my new Z.

Sounds to me like you need an alchohol injected motor with 17 to 1 compression...or go buy a top fuel dragster, hell HIHO probably has a spare motor you can have.

I have the stock cat's 3 inch pipe true dualed with no mufflers,4 inch straight cut tips coming out each side of the truck, and it is alot of pop-pop-pop, but pretty damn loud... If your going to git it straight-piped you probably wont be happy, i'm used to it though,so mabey you would get used to it to. The reason you wont like it much is because any Vortechs that are straight-piped always sound like they have leaks, when there is really no holes in the pipes??? But on the other hand thats not all you hear. But be prepaired to git noticed every time you git on it (o yeah your local police wont like it too much either).
