How big of a cam?

How big of a cam can i run on a 5.3 without upgrading the stock valvetrain I.e: springs pushrods and rocker arms? is a .588 lift cam too much?

I'm running LS6 springs with 525/532 lift.
I believe the stockers only go up to like .500 lift and can't handle the lobe design of most aftermarket cams.

Stock cam is as big as you can go on stock springs.

i have been running a 218/229 .560 .560 113 on stock valvetrain for almost 2 years. still going strong. im not saying its an ideal thing to do and i dont recommend doing it.

Since when are LS6 springs stock??? I was reading in your signature about how one of your mods are LS6 springs???????

Yes. Stock is as high as you can go. And a .588 lift is huge!!! What's the duration and LSA?
