Default Hooker Aerochamber

Well, I finally decided on my muffler. I went with the Hooker Aerochamber dual in, and 3'' single out, dumped and turned down 6" after the muffler. I like it alot. Man does this thing rumble!! It has the deepest tone I've heard. It makes my head vibrate! The change raddles in my soda pop holder its so deep. I thought unleashing the power of the 6.0 was going to be nice, but not this nice. The only thing I don't like about it, its not very loud at idle, but the muffler shop said to give a couple of weeks to break it in. Is it because I dumped it? I thought dumping it was suppose to make it louder? Bluecajun5.3 recommended this to me, and I'm glad he did. I haven't lost any lowend TQ or HP, as a matter of fact, I'll bet that gained about 10 hp or so. I can feel the power when I get on it. I recommend it if you like a deep aggressive tone.

I have it on my 5.3 and it sounds good, I also had it with a turndown, and then I swapped it coming out in front of the rear tire and its a whole different sound, sounds real good, my 6liter will be going in this week, cant wait to see how it sounds with it...

Sounds good!
I'm thinking of changing my exhaust setup to a true dual.

i have had the aerochamer on three of my camaros. it does get louder in time. but it is still quiet at idle but opens up when you floor it. mine was actually pretty loud and deep at idle when i had my 230/236 cam in my LT1. although my True duals on my 99Z was much louder.

Trust me, you will not regret the sound of that power coming out of the 6.0! I did a little test today. I kept my tail pipe when they fabbed everything on the new muffler, so I put the tail pipe on as normal, and it did sound much better than being dumped. You still get the deep tone, but you also get the true sound coming out. So, tomorrow I will have them weld it back on. I like the way some guys put their tips just before the rear tire. I think it looks kick ***, looks like a nascar truck series. I might do that when I get my LT's and true duals, but I'll put them on both sides. I just don't know how it would look on an SSS. But the sound will just rock!

I have the same muffler on my 5.3 the only problem i dont like about it is that with my setup *PS LT's with catless y-pipe back to the muffler and then dumped* is that it gets raspy and sounds kinda shitty from about 3500 - 4500 rpms. I'm actually thinking of taking it off and running a chamber 3"/3" round 30" Stainless works muffler.
