Default Hooker Aero Chamber guestion...

Anybody running an aero chamber with stock exhaust manifolds and factory cats? I need some feedback on how this setup will sound. Also, would a single 3" in/out perform/sound better than a si/do (3"/2.5"). I have a 18" magnaflow si/do and am not happy with the sound (too quiet at slow speeds and the drone above 2k rpm's is killing me).

When my truck was stock I had a magnaflow on it ( DI/DO, 22" Case) and it was too quiet. I removed the magnaflow and installed 2 Hooker Aerochambers, and loved the way it sounded. Nice and deep, destinctive idle and agressive at WO. When I put the LT's and ORY on the Hookers were WAY too loud, so I removed them and went back to the magnaflow, still too loud, so I added in two dynomax bullets and now I am happy with it.

I like the sound of my 14 in Aerochamber. It’s got a very deep tone to it. Not very loud at idle but it’s noticeable when driving and screams when you get on it. It's not loud in the cab and it only really drones at around 1200 rpm. Mines dumped before the axle.

Quieter IMO. I had an aerochamber on my 06 Z71 for about 2 days. It sounds very nice, deep rumble, but very quiet on stock manifolds and cats.

Are you running a single in/dual out or a single in/single out?? and what size (dia.) are your tail pipes?

Single in/dual out 2.5 in. pipes. I was going to run duals out the back but never got around to it. I don't know if single in/out would make much difference in sound but I'm sure pipe diameter would.

I'll search around for the sound clips I've got of my setup for ya.
