Default home made y pipe

Took off my exhaust today to reweld and track down some exhaust leaks. The enclosed pics are the y pipe and one of the flanges I ground down to get off someone elses bugger welds. Its not the pritties thing but it does its job; not to bad for some monkeys with an angle grinder and a welder.

The pic of the hummer is an H1 we put 20's and 36" terra grapplers on plus some other work.

BTW: It didnt fix my problem with one bank running leaner, so next thing is to have the injectors flowed and rebuilt, I guess thats what I get for buying used injectors.

if you put all that work into building a y-pipe why not just run a little more pipe and make yourself some true duals like I've got.... I have a buddy that built my entire system from the headers back to the tips for 200... he gutted the cats and put on some SLP resonators. all 3 inch pipe. It sounds mean... and runs way better. I think I lost a hair in the torque dept but I definitely gained some HP.... It was a good trade off. my next step is to put in an H-pipe or X-pipe so it balances a little better....

as for running lean... you mentioned re-building your squirters..... no good.... just get some upgraded replacements and have your PCM flashed or get a tuner.... you will be way happier with the results.

I think duals are overkill and you loose power under the curve. Plus you get to pay for twice the pipe and 2 mufflers, then a crossover. The way I setup the exhaust it is stepped down with the thorley tri y headers then into the y and 1 3" pipe.

As far as the injectors these are 31 lbers they flow enough it is something physically wrong with them on one side.
