Here's my first 1/4 times
#1
I know these aren't that good compared to some, but I am happy with them. I got 8 runs the first was 16.5 because I thought the 1/8 was the finish line for a second and Randy called this, my Hayden fan kit crapped out on me (240*) so I hotwired them to the battery. Each run got better. My last race was about 85 degrees, I got to run a Dakota RT Reg cab with some bolt ons and a converter. Oh yeah I still have the 3.42 open diff too. He did a big *** burnout and I still took him off the line Heres the slip, I am first column, Dak is second...
R/T .946 .814
60 2.451 2.490
330 6.652 6.790
1/8ET 10.142 10.127
1/8MPH 71.39 74.58
1/4ET 15.514 15.362
1/4MPH 90.94 94.43
He pulled hard in 2nd gear.
My mods are Vforce Exhaust, Cold Air Intake, HPP3, and LS1 Fans. Hopefully the 3.73 locker will take off 2 or 3 tenths.
Let me know what you think of my times please. TIA.

You stand to gain the most with an improvement in your 60'.
I forgot you combo...5.3L? ECSB?
Should you be able to get the 60' closer to a 2.1 or 2.2 you have much more to gain with less moding (Less ET to the tune of 3-4 tenths.) Some tire slippage is good to get you out of that 1600 rpm bog with the stock converter but it will not be easy to modulate tire spin with your open diff. You may also want to consider more of a flash stall technique to help get you out of the lower rpms (hold rpms at 900-1000 and romp on it on the last yellow.) From your reaction time you are getting on the gas a little late...while this will not improve ET you can still get the win light. What settings were you using for the HPP3 shift points?

I have a 2000 SCSB stepside. I was using 87 octane tuning, 6100 rev limit, +3 1-2 and I ended the runs still in 2nd at just before 6000 RPM. I am surprised some stock Ex. cabs on here are running 5 tenths faster than me, but at less MPH. I agree the open diff is sh*tty I had to be so easy off the line or the one tire goes up in smoke and I go nowhere. I will try to leave at more RPM and a little quicker RT next time. Thanks for the input oxidizr if you have anymore tips let me hear them.

Nothing wrong with those times. Good job, better work on that reaction time though.

Your times are right in line with mine. I am sorry to say we are both slow. My best is a 15.55@89.43 mph with a 2.35 60'. This was with a FIPK and a flowmaster muffler in the stock location. I am also reg cab. I just put in HPP3 tuning so I will test sunday night and report back. Already though the weather is looking pretty bad. If it doesn't rain its gonna be a hot, humid *****.

yeah you should try messing around with the hypertech tuning because i ran a 15.6 with just an Airaid Intake and Single Flowmaster....and i have a 4.8L.
i think i would run 15.3 or so with the hypertech so you should be under that and close into the 14s with your mods.
