Default hepl me chose a cam!!!

ok everyone i have been lucky on not finding any great deals on finding a cam cause ive been looking for a cam and im not really sure what im actually wanting...

my truck is a daily driver. i drive to and from work every day and live in a city so i sit at alot of stop lights. my mods are in the sig. and i just need help chosing a cam. i have a really heavy right foot and a left foot that tends to love smashing down and releasing the clutch quite fast. but anyway i want some lope but not to much. if people have or know where i can get some sound clips that would be great.

throw out some ideas about what you think and i thank everyone in advance

well, a little more info is kinda needed. as in, best performer for 1/4 mile and such and low end or top end. i'd venture to say you want bottom end giving the city driving. tuning is gonna be needed with most cams. so are you willing to do that too?

i'd go with a 212/218 and around a 112 lobe seperation for all around performance. but there are a lot of variables to consider as well.

im not looking for huge gains anywhere but i tend to treat every light as a drag strip. i just want a nice gain throughout the whole powerband...

being a manual trans. i can control the lower end power a bit so i guess im looking for more midrange then anything.

and yes i am willing to tune. i have a great shop that is here local (synergy motorsports) even though i have heard that tuning isnt a necesity as it is for the auto trannys. but im going to tune anyway to get the most out of my mods.

what exactly does the first set of numbers mean as in the 212/218?

and LSA, ive head this has alot to do with the amount of lope you will get, is this true?

i'd recomend something like the XR265HR in the high lift. there aren't very many cams available that will work well with a 4.8L so you're kinda limited to availability unless you go with a custom grind.
