yes there is issues.
that intake will not work on a 5.3
it's designed to work with l92 heads found on the new 6.2L.

Get an LS6 intake manifold. They pop up for sale over on tech fairly often. You'll have to use LS1 injectors with it. What are you power goals?

no power goals, building a commuter car

I think this would look good under a 68 Camaro hood

Edelbrock Victor Jr... Summit part# EDL-29086

Injector size is dependant on what your power goals are... 40's would work good if you are looking for something like 500 crank horsepower...

If you don't care at all about power, pick up an LS1 intake manifold. They should be dirt cheap because everyone swaps them out for the LS6. Just a warning though. The LS1 manifolds are the worst flowing stock intake manifolds out there for the LS-series motors. Get a stock set of LS1 injectors too. Should be pretty damn cheap to pick up all that stuff.

that would go with the stock look i'm after. haven't seen one for EFI engines. would the stock throttle body mount on top? if not, then what?

you use it with an intake elbow from www.intakeelbows.com and they can make one that will allow hood clearance
