I think there are sponsors who will sell a comp custom grind in the $350- $375 range. I saw an ebay auction once where the shop was selling a cusom comp for $350, you pick the specs and they order it.

You really shoud just buy a custom cam with more lift on XE high lift lobes (just like the comp 212/218 .558 .563 cam). Then run stock rockers. You could sell the 1.85 rockers and almost pay for the cam. There is no need for rockers if you get a custom cam ground. There wouldn't really be any difference in having more lift on the cam or running more rocker ratio. But doing both would be a waste of money.

If you run the cam that comp says, it will multiply the .529 lift to over .575, which would be murdering your valvesprings on such short duration.

Just go with the 212/218 .558 .563 115 cam and sell the rockers.

but what about the roller tips? doesnt this free some of the valve train up? less friction?
but you could still get a custom grind cam to fit this application right? I understand what your are saying about the rockers and the clearance and ramp issues. just looking at options.

I saw on the car classified where dudes were selling Z06 cams, springs, retainers for $100-$150 bucks, what gives besides the high rpm power gains? Do they have zero bottom end or what? For that price a man could do them and an LS6 intake at the same time for less bread!!
