help! damn headers

Default help! damn headers

i'm in the middle of a header install (asm's on 5.3 4x4) and the dipstick tube broke off flush with the block any advice on getting it out? also what do new dipstick tubes run and where to get them? thanks in advance

Find a bolt that will thread kinda tightly into the dipstick tube and screw it in about 1/2"...use a pair of pliers to pull it and (hopefully) the dipstick tube out of the block

if you cant wiggle it, make a redneck slide hammer. tie anything around the bolt/screw and yank on that bee-otch. dipstick tube alone is about 40 bones.

i ran an easy out into it and pulled like a **** its in there good.

Did it move whenever you put the easy out in there? Is the gasket still attatched to the tube? If so its gonna take some rotation/pulling to get it out.

nothin moved at all . i think the gasket is still in there, its broken flush with the tube hole. i was worried about running the ez out in too far and pushing the sides of the tube out against the hole a jamming it up

can you bend it a little like getting a seal out and get needle nose pliers on it???
