Default Heads or STS?

Well I am at the middle of the road. I either stay N/A or go with the STS. I am really leaning towards a set of heads to go with the rest of my mods. What do you guys think? I would up the compression with a new set of heads and have a nice daily driver or the STS.

STS!!!!!!!!!! Go for the FI. You will make lots more power with the turbo over the heads. Besides once you get the STS you can then go from there and determine what heads will help you out the best.

STS. Once you feel the need for more power all you have to do is turn up the boost.

with the sts Id set aside some money for the tranny but you could get larger chambered heads to match for alot less than heads built for an na application

in the end na will be alot cheaper but less potential

I was in your shoes about 3 months ago and went na because it will cost you roughly twice as much to go the FI route, there are some guys like slow process who run in the 12's on all motor and there alot of 5.3 na motors in the 13's

Depends on your goals... the heads are going to need a bigger cam to really take advantage of them, if you want to get the most out of them.

However, if you want something more docile, I'd go the FI route. I personally don't like the STS setup (I'm just uncomfortable with the intake being under the truck, and I really don't like the auxillary oil pump setup you have to use with the STS kit; lots of folks seem to be happy with them, though), but to each his own. If it was me, I'd look at either the Livernois or TSP turbo setup. Just my $.02.

I would go turbo no doubt. Heads really dont give you that much from what I hear and its just as hard to tune. If you going for speed and power I cant see why anyone wouldnt want FI.

With my Z06 I added AFR Heads and an LG cam. With Tune and Longtubes, it added approximately 80hp. Cost? Roughly $5,000.

Then I see "Two Guys Garage" throw a "Base" STS kit on an F-body and it makes something like 125hp for roughly $4,000 installed.

So in a nutshell....... STS. I'll be able to speak more on the subject after next Monday!
