I cant wait to hear what that thing puts down.
I'm 6'1 and 235....I can fit fine between the rad and engine but for alot of the **** it's easier to lean over than it is to stand in the engine bay...we also had three of us working on the install at the same time so only one could be in the bay

Good point.
BTW I know who ever tunes it wont give out all their secrets, but I would find it very interesting to see what changes/ tables have to altered and how "off" your base tune is. Ive heard most just add some timing and get the fueling close. I would think some changes to the VE tables would be needed.

Awesome... glad to hear you got some good results.

Once you're able to do some tuning, you'll get even more lowend/midrange out of the cam. How do you like the part throttle power available? Pretty "meaty", right?

I still go back and forth a bit on the size of my cam - the only thing I have any concern about is top-end power... but then again, my WOT is still 100% untuned.

Regarding 89 and 10.1:1 -- I believe we calculated out the SS's to be running between 10.1 and 10.2 static. I've been really working on my fueling and timing tables lately - I've been able to weed out ALL KR except for a few little rather random tickles of 1* under higher load situations, like being locked up in OD on a long hill at a low RPM. Some days I get 2-3, maybe 5 hits in a 50 minute drive, other days on the same drive, none. Anyway - I put in some 89 last night to see what would would happen. Almost immediatly, I got a 3.5* hit high up in the RPM range getting on the highway. I was prett bummed.

I would think that you would be able to run a stock SS timing table as a good starting point on things. My HO table is still rather stock in 90% of the cells - I actually pulled some in some places, and mostly added up top to acomodate the higher g/cyl ranges I hit with the mods I've done.

I filled the tank today with 91.....I only just under a 1/4 of a tank of 89 in there so it's pretty close to all 91 in there now

my impressions today are all VERY positive: part throttle power is WAY WAY up, it pulls SOOOO much harder than before all the way through the power band. I am DEFINITELY pulling timing in the upper rpm's though....it's pretty noticable above 4800 or so (the better gas helped some...). The only logging software I have is for my PocketPC and that doesn't show KR, but it does show ltrims....my trims are hanging around +15 - +18 so I KNOW that fuel tuning is needed

I wasn't able to make it to Vegas today to get it tuned (I woke up too late to get a trip to Vegas in today...I'm STILL sore !!!) but I should be going in next week to get it done

I'm also thinking that I could be leaning out at the top...there is a definite surge above 4500rpm that I'm kind of attributing to KR, but since KR takes time to recover it shouldn't cause the surging like I'm feeling

Awesome news. I had always wondered what a flight out to death valley would be like. I haven't been able to get out of prescott for the past 4 weeks. Damn El nino weather. I'd like to fly out there sometime and check out your truck. Glad you're happy with it.

Congrats on the install! You might want to consider the Vinci/Crane Tuner. I have the exact same cam with the Crane duals and 1.8's. What I thought was good with the stock tune became great with the tuner. Besides that, you won't have to pay for other tunes if you want to make other changes such as headers, different tire changes or supercharger! I'm super happy with mine. Just my .02! Enjoy your ride!!
